    Got this on a walk around Durham Cathederal Icannot decide wether it would be be better as a b&w conversion c&cs welcome

    George,

    Tricky call. It does have elements that will translate well into B&W, but that will lose that beautiful multi-colored patina. I suspect you'll end up keeping a version of each. I'd love to see them together.

    Nice shot with the lines converging in the frame. IMO, the b&w image looks just as good as the color one. It has its own moody feel.

    For me, George, there is just sufficient 'shine' on the knocker to make that B&W work well. And it tends to concentrate more on the texture than the coloured version.
