    Diamond Back Terrapin

This was a Terrapin that I saw on the road in a place it would not naturally be. The DNR (dept of natural resources) I spoke with said that a storm that went through during that time must have caused it to be land bound.....I took some photos of it, and drove it to the nearest water source (recommendation by DNR) It's the Maryland State reptile ( )

This was taken by a FUJI S2Pro I bought several years ago on Ebay, was my first DSLR, and this week I am going through all my old files, backing up and organizing them....some I am reprocessing to make some prints...I think that camera was pretty nice. The photos it took were more on the deeper golden-more saturated side. Unfortunately, it succumbed to the "black sensor" death.

Nat I think the first shot is quite a striking shot. The turtle really stands out and is nice and sharp. In the second shot, it get's a bit lost in the surroundings.

Nat I agree with Dave and I like the first image better, you can really see the whole body, shape and colour which would not be normally visible in its natural surroundings.

Thanks Dave and Clive. The second shot was where I released it. It turned around just seconds after I shot this and ran into the water.

Maryland should use the first shot in official publications.

LOL! Thank you Bobo, but I am sure they have some fine photos by more distinguished photographers than I.
