    At the barn

When my father died last week, 2 of my sisters and I retreated to the barn for some "horse therapy". I took my camera. My father was an ardent supporter of my work and the "Bank of Dad" had a hand in financing my endevours.

So for him, I post these pictures.

Thank you for looking. Feel free to comment. I shot these with my 7d and my 70-200 2.8 lens. Shutter speeds range from 100 to 200. ISO is 800. Most are shot wide open at f2.8

My sympathy for your dad's passing.
The expressions on the horses' faces is just priceless!

    Oh Marie,

I am sorry to hear your sad news, my thoughts go to you and your sisters at this difficult time.

These are lovely series of shots which I am sure your father would have been proud.

Marie, I'm very sorry for your loss. My dad passed in Oct. '09, and is still missed every
    day.

Love the horse pics, #3 & 4 are definitely contenders for the "Critters with Character"
    awards..

#4 seems to say.."I miss him too"...

Time is a great healer, so be patient, and make sure you allow some time for yourself
in all that is going on.

So sorry to hear of your loss Marie. Animals are such good therapists. Looks like some are sympathizing with you and others are trying to cheer you up. The last shot is a beaut.

    Again my sincere condolences
    Take Care

    Marie,

Those shots speak. The animals look happy but almost like they know something is missing. Animal therapy is such a wonderful thing. I am glad you shared these moments.

Thank you Kris. Horses are such great partners and my sister (the one in the first picture) has such a wonderful relationship with all 3 of her horses.

Thank you Dave, dear Mod. My dad would have been very proud.

Mike, I don't think the loss of a loved one ever gets easy, even with the passage of time. I am sorry for your loss also.

Wendy, you are right about animals being therapists. The horses made us laugh, something that was sorely needed.

Thanks, Scott. I'm glad I shared these pictures, too. They make me smile. Interactions with animals are just so "in the moment".

    Good day, all.

    Marie
