    One Man Down...

Just heard a knock on the door a couple of minutes ago. The mailman delivered a small box containing... the extension ring! Yehey!!! That was fast. Some guys are really awesome on ebay (knock on wood!)

Tested it with my old el cheapo 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6D lens (all plastic) and borrowed my kids' lego toys for a moment. The setup was great as I have about 14" of distance from the front of the lens to the subject. Using natural window light and a white board as a reflector here is my first try for another macro shot. I changed the in camera's white balance to incandescent to get the blue color effect. Thank you very much for viewing.

    One Man Down...

    Nikon D70, 90mm, ISO 400, f/4.5 at 1/25 second.

Sorry to be a pedant, but the Stormtroopers didn't have lightsabers

    Cool shot though!

No wonder I can't find it. Hehehe. Here is the actual shot setup:

My boys will love - LOVE - this, Willie! Fun! I've got to start thinking outside the box with the macro thing, too.

    Great shot, Willie.

    I just have one problem....

Why can't you admit that those are your toys? All this talk about them being your kids' toys. We all know you bought them for yourself for fun photography shots like this, but you let the kids play with them to cover it up....

Great work - and I love the blue effect!

Now I am getting angry at you, Bill. You always spill my secrets! Just kidding. Well, whenever I look at yard sales in the neighborhood the first thing that I am looking for are stuff that might be fun to photograph.

Yea, yea, we understand, Jedi Avatar and all. It's less embarrassing than having to admit that you lost some of your OWN toys!

Nice use of imagination to go from original setup to the final image!

Thanks, Frank. When I was in Tennessee, I lost a couple of really nice manga toys. It would be fun to shoot them if I still have them now.

I did not misplace them, Katy. My kids accidentally included them on our last garage sale prior to moving here in TX. I had some nice Gundam robot manga figurines that I used to set up and draw them. Once in a while I still practice pencil drawing.

I'm just kidding you, Jiro, but, maybe, this is no joking matter - I hear you on the frustration of 'things' lost.

Great shot Willie. Interesting effect from the use of colour and balance settings.
And who really cares about the issue of light sabres and the 'service station' profile on the Stormie's chest? Poetic licence applies. And after all, they are your toys, aren't they Willie?
Can't wait to see what you do with Dark Vader. He is my hero. Although Princess L. has been known to generate a bit of the old lens lust as well from time to time. But the old Dark V. ,now, he's the man.

That's the problem, Ken... I don't have the darth vader lego figure. Even the local walmart doesn't have stock of that one, too. Better check at ebay for that one.
