    Black Cat

This furry little gent is a regular at my back door. He was a very obliging model...and no I did not super glue his paws to the door mat

    Re: Black Cat

Do I detect a softness for cats on the forum? If so, here's my two, Echo (left) and Sputnik (right). This was taken the day they moved in with me, and was the second photo I'd taken of them.

    Canon Ixus 400, 1/60th, F/2.8.

    Enjoy!

If we are having a cat show; here is an alternative angle.

Rather poor quality image I'm afraid.

    Never trust my cat!

    Re: Black Cat

Seeing the teeth in Geoff's shot reminded me of this shot, taken in July 2003 on a Nikon E2500 point and shoot; 1/283s @ f4.8 (ISO100) equivalent focal length 95mm. Minimal PP, just a crop and sharpen in Picasa 3.

    Black Cat

This is "Socks", sitting in the (empty) birdbath, yawning.

    Meow,

Jim B the colour of the cats eyes in the second image is stunning. Dave, my cat is called Socks too although the kids spell it "Sox". He is black and white and got his name in memory of a gun dog I used when working as a beater.

We got our Socks from a litter her Mum (Magic - because she's all black like a witch's cat) had. So Socks' name arose to differentiate her from the other bundles of fluff, because she had the appearance of four white 'socks' on her legs/paws. I guess if we'd sold her too, someone else would have given her another name; "Tiddles" perhaps (although she doesn't ), but as we kept her, the name stuck.

    Cheers,
