Is this your pooch, then? Cute AND funny!

Jiro, you know that I don't speak PS very well but, is it 'oversharpened'? Somehow, I want to see pets looking softer. What do you think?

It's takes a lot of practice, Sir... and a cheap tripod to reduce blur.

It's our new adopted dog, Katy. The kids love him a lot. He even sleeps beside my youngest kid most of the time (they take turns). The 50mm lens really is sharp even at f/2.8. I merely added some contrast and some detail from the RAW file. Anything with hair I like them sharp.

Hi Willie, I like pictures that show what I see with my eyes. My eyes may not be a sharp as they once were, but to me a sharp image, particularly hair, looks normal. Nice job!

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

Cute pooch, Willie! I don't think it's over sharpened... that's exactly what a Chihuahua's hair looks like... the texture is perfect. I'm no expert on photography... but... dogs I can do.

Thanks, Vanderberg. What you probably notice as additional "sharpening" was the way the hair reflects the light. Chihuahua's hair are so thin and short and even I, too notice that if I position the camera at certain angles relative to the light, they tend to be very bright giving the impression of extra sharpness. I can adjust it using either a reverse USM or the clarity slider in LR. Thanks.

Thanks, Frank! Count me in, I too have poor eyesight that I need 2 glasses now - one for driving and one for reading.

Thanks, Paul. I use a tripod to help me out since the puppy was asleep.
