    Jiro,

Absolutely gorgeous shot. What aperture did you use? Also, how did you get such beautiful bokeh?

Lovely shot and a really good bokeh - I assume that's a cricket there ?

Hello, Deb. I use f/8 on my aperture opening. I had to increase my ISO from 200 to 400 so I can keep the shutter speed to about 1/100 second to reduce blur. It was a bit windy so I need something faster than 1/60 second. I used the maximum focal length available on my zoom at 70mm (equivalent to 105mm since the D70 is a DX body) and I am about 2 feet away from the flower. Being closer to the flower than to the grassy ground (as my background) this lens can produce nice bokeh as always.

Yup, John. Same smart cricket from the previous image I posted. Thanks for the comment.

Beautiful, Willie. The colors are so vibrant... I especially like how the green fades to yellow. And, the bokeh is very nice.

Nice sunflower willie. I like the bonus cricket as well. Have you considered a tighter crop? The right side really doesn't add anything substantial to the image (IMO). It would also strengthen the composition of the cricket, which i think adds alot to this image.

Thanks, Steve. Yes, I did consider that, and it's saved as another image file on my hard drive. With this one, I decided to keep the landscape crop so I can give the flower enough space to the right to give the impression that it is indeed trying to get all the last light it can have before full sunset. As for the cricket, well this guy decided to stay in the flower so I included him in the shot. What captured my attention to take this shot was the light, it gave the shot the softness that I saw and tried to preserve that on the exposure.
