Re: 1st attempts with my new macro!
We had this old lemon in the fridge. Full of fungus by the time it was remembered. But a good opportunity to try out my old Kiron 105mm macro with 2x teleconverter. I used a diffused flash on camera and a slave slightly to the left.

Re: It's a Small World (share your macros!)
This forum is fascinating! Never thought about this kind of photography although of course have seen lots of macros. I was busy chasing hummingbirds but came across this Rhodo coming into bloom (in Victoria now the cherry trees, rhodos, etc. are beginning to sprout). Probably used all the wrong settings, but every shot is practice. Spent a bit of time adjusting levels, curves, etc. but most of that disappeared when compressed to a jpg. Some advice about how to go about this better would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Doug

A couple of my "experiments"
This image was one of my 1st ever true macro shots where I was wandering through my dad's garden. The colours and light surprised me and was something that I didn't expect.

Here are some of my first "macro" shots- done with my simple point and shoot camera, back in July and August of 2010. I know they do not even come close to any of yours...I'm just merely sharing my close-ups :)
On the sunflowers we planted in our backyard.

Post #109 shot this bee ovber summer with my little finepix snapshot
You must have a very steady hand, it is hard to get a bee in mid flight. The transparency shows through in the bees wings and that is great. A bee on a mission :)
