The group kept moving around and I was getting some over exposure areas from the sunshine.
This individual was in shadow but even with under exposure I struggled to deal with its reflective surface. Those settings also produced a rather long shutter speed and plenty of shadow noise.
Incidentally, I'm suspecting they might be Hypera pollux but I'm not very experienced with weevils.

Nice shots David, Mark and Geoff.
Have not been shooting the small things lately but man I have been bitten by some.

Re: Any bug photos during August 2015
Nice flies David, not sure if anyone has said that to you before :)
this was for fun the Soldier beetle, Rhagonycha fulva, I believe, took ages to get to the top. I am sure it felt it got a better take off from there :D

Geoff, Love the Weevils, yep you are right Binnur, they do remind you of Pinnichio dont they :D
Re: Any bug photos during August 2015
Showing the whole plant head plus beetle perched on top works well, Mark.
They do seem to like climbing; when not more involved in mating! Even then, they wander around all over flowers etc.
Re: Any bug photos during August 2015
Lovely shot Mark :)

No video clip here in Canada. This problem with Tinypics is really erratic and weird!

Copy the appropriate link and then paste into place using the photo frame icon from the toolbar here.
Some other photo sites can also be linked like this.
Or there is the old method of creating a gallery in CinC and linking from there. But file size is more limited that way.
