Hi Rob It's a silver birch tree the Pattern is due to the soil type it is growing in (I have been told) we have a few of those in this area.

Something very evocative about a line of trees like that. Like the final scene of the movie The Third Man. Nice shot.

I had to dig back a long way to get back to my tree phase it rested somewhere between rotting paintwork and rocks in streams....ahh the days before I cared less about chromatic aberration
