I'm still looking at this. Are you suggesting to try to get an abstract from it?
I need to get working on a June project. I currently have 2 candidates.
Re: My PP project for 2014
I hesitate to use the term abstract because it has different connotations, but I would suggest you continue to play with it. eg, maybe lay a texture over it and see what eventuates.
I tend to spend more time playing with my duds than my technically acceptable shots, and I learn more about processing from the failures, too.

Yep, so do I.
I can waste hours trying to salvage a shot that's really not worth keeping - sometimes with amazing results.
I'll give this one a shot.:)

I'm not sure if this is such a major improvement - but it's a different take and at least my granddaughter likes it.:D

Re: My PP project for 2014
Now that has an unusual but very intriguing look about it Kris. I certainly wouldn't consider that one a failure. Quite the opposite!
Re: My PP project for 2014
Hi Kris,
I quite like your interpretation of the rose. At first I thought it was all noise but looking at it closer and larger I see you have some texture added to it.
I am far from being an expert. As one of the qoutations of a member,(I could not remember who at this point), "your first 10,000 shots is your worst" then all my shots are still my worst, as I have made only a couple of thousand shots.
What you are doing, to me, is something against the grain of photograpy. That is, it has to be sharp, focused and with excellent exposure. That is what I am trying to learn with the help of this forum. This is not to discourage you but really to encourage you to go on. If everybody believes that the world is flat, Where will we be right now! Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback!
Since I'm probably the world's worst photographer, I like to experiment with Post Processing. Anything from abstract to painterly - just to see how far I can push the envelope and still keep the subject recognizable.

Greg, Frank, Joselito - Thanks so much for your valuable feedback.
