Images 1 and 4 are great as is. I think #2 might be even better with some WB adjustment, and I wonder whether a significant crop might make it really compelling; the bird's pose has a natural diagonal, and I'd consider a crop especially off the right that would place the bird's head more in the RU corner, give it some magnification and get it out of the middle.

Hello Clive, thank you for viewing and commenting. I think the dig burrows for protection and nesting, there are many trees where the could nest.

Thank you my friend, it was about a three hour drive to get there but Dottie and I combined it with a visit with her brother and wife.

Hi Kevin, thank you for viewing and your suggestion. Cropping I believe is in the eye of the beholder. Yours certainly is a good suggestion. I evolve and change sometimes prefering tight crops other times with more space around the subject, right now I am in a more space phase having negative space around the bird or animal if possible. Just part of my evolution as a nature photgrapher
