@ Paul, that is a great image, very dark and foreboding.

#3  how do they know how far apart they are. I remember being 16 and on a solo in a glider and some berk in the air force thought it would be good to fly in formation. I was just to keep to my route but all that happened was he kept pushing me wide by getting too close. I got this aversion to pain. :)
How about an oldie? this was shot with a Minolta x500 25 years ago.

Danang AB, South Vietnam, February 1966. A hard-working B-57 bomber about to loaded with bombs (my job) for a night mission.

A P-51 during a low, fast pass at Rockford AirFest. I see a 93 year-old gentlemen at a local restaurant each week. He flew P-51's in Italy and shot down six enemy planes. It's a great thrill to talk to him.

Great thread! Wish I had something to contribute. We do have a large airshow not far from here (in Dayton) in July that I need to put on my calendar.
I found this photo in a box in my attic. It was not in good condition.I played about with it in Gimp and finally gave it a vintage look.It certainly looks much better than the original. Is there anything else that needs doing to it?
