Fascinating read, Willie. You are a very talented guy. Are there any samples of your music on the Internet that we can listen to? I take your rating of your photographic abilities as a measure of your ambition, so I won't quibble about it, but you should know that you are an excellent mentor and teacher to those of us trailing in your wake and I am extremely grateful for your generosity.

Thanks, Katy. My hair is just a bit shorter than the one on my avatar but still long. :D

Nope. I'm not strong enough to share my voice out there. :D It's as rare as a full moon that I usually compose a song, only when I'm really too emotional that the only way to let it out of my system is to put them into words and apply some melodies to it. :o

I still consider myself a newbie, Janis. I may look like a fast learner, but still a newbie. :) Thank you very much if you find me a good sharer of information. :D

There is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about there! That's a tough job no doubt!
You're obviously doing what you need to do to support your family. And right now, they don't need you building speaker systems and having construction crews running around at your whims... :)

Absolutely. Well said, Bill.
Maybe CiC can contribute to finally burying so many of the gender sterotypes that still exist in so many of our societies.
Re: In conversation with ...... jiro
WOW Jiro, I liked you before I read this because I really liked the helpful advice and tips you gave others on their photos, I could tell you were a kind person. Now after reading this I like you even more ! You are very interesting, I can't believe you just started seriously taking pictures in November 2010.. Definitely looks like you have been doing this for many many years.. You have a true talent there :) !!
Re: In conversation with ...... jiro
Well, I only say it simply because of that stereotype mentality. When I go to some local gatherings, the first thing that they will go ask you is "So, what do you do for a living?" When I told them I'm a full time home dad for now they just burst in a grinny kind of smile. I wonder how many of them can cook a good omelette. Hahaha! Now that's payback. Just kidding. :D
Re: In conversation with ...... jiro
Full time Dad's are cool and your kids are really going to appreciate it when they are older.!

Well, I wish I had to money to put you in business...I think we'd both make lots of dough...alas, though, we'd probably lose you on here and much of what I have learned in PP has come from you...sigh, it would be a hard decision for sure.

I don't think so, Chris. CiC has become a family to me. Besides, where else can you find witty Brits, hilarious Scotsmen, and friendly Welsh but here! :p I gained a lot of friends here at CiC and you are one of them so stop whining. Hahaha! :D
Re: In conversation with ...... jiro

Too right. I looked after my girls (before Mike was born) when I was on a years sabbatical. It is far harder than going out to the workplace. There is absolutely no reason why traditional roles should exist these days we should all be mucking in together. Nowt worse than a bloke who hides behind his job (or his golf cart for that matter). being a man is about shouldering the load not shirking the things that really matter. Good on you Jiro.

I'm coming late to this party! I loved reading your interview.
A 5??? You rate yourself a 5??? I think not.
You are an incredibly generous person and a great teacher and an all-around nice guy. Oh, and modest, too, to a fault. ;)
I'm glad to get to know more about you.

Thank you very much, Elise. Being late is good. Sometimes, the one who's late says all the nicest words. Hihihi! :p Just joking. Thank you very much for the kind words, Elise. :)

Jiro,
Thank you for providing an insight into who you are. I had developed a respect for you through your work and the limited messaging we have done. This interview has served to strengthen my respect for a man of many talents. I look forward to seeing more of your work and developing a better understanding of the man behind the lens.
