Re: The Great Chuck & Colin Bird / Boat Challenge!
wow those eagle pics are awesome! The one of the eagle taking off has got to be my favourite so far. Not just the face but weird position of the wings. I like the little snow puffs under him (or her I'm no good teling most bird sexes apart) testimony to the size of their wingspan.
Re: The Great Chuck & Colin Bird / Boat Challenge!
I can't add much to comments admiring these images, Theron, except say the contrast in sizes and environments of the two species in img 112 is itself a fascinating experience!
One day you may come across a competition topic "Contrast".. you'll have the winner in your archive.

Agreed. I'm also impressed when people "come clean" and 'fess up to how/where/when they took the shot/s. Absolute crackers!

That's a bit of an understatement, having viewed just some of your galleries linked from the welcome thread, some nice shots there by the way.
Welcome from ...

some more boats, nothing special but the sunken one intrigues me, although where it is makes a good angle that takes it all in hard. I also like the one in the middle of the waste ground but it's fenced off and can't get near it. The photo is pretty rubbish but again I'm intrigued why the whole area has been cleared completely apart from this boat.

While at work, my father rang me up and asked if I could shoot him sailing. I really could have used someone to steer the launch.

all pics here need some quick composition tweaks to balance out the subjects and story:) very good subjects, ruined by quick photography, and compoitions! vertical framing and horizontal framing have been misused:)how we frame a pic is the first thing one must keep in mind before we even lift the camera:)

OK.....show us how.
I'm very new to this forum and to photography.
Most of my photos are straight out of the camera with maybe a bit of crop and sharpen.
I'm enjoying this forum and would appreciate all or any C&C and advice I can get.
Haven't see any of yours yet.
I've just this week joined a Camera Club to learn how to use my camera and learned that photography should be FUN..........

So who knows what type of bird this is? I don't. He was putting on a show and I got lucky.
