Richard, that is what I call a serious dog. I prefer large dogs - I grew up for some years on a military base guarded by Great Dane/Doberman cross dogs. We used to ride them, and play with them as kids of five or six do, but not when their handlers were in uniform. They patrolled the nuclear base between the 3rd and 4th wires and they were NOT trained to bark at intruders - if you get my drift. My mother always complained that their meat ration was bigger than ours!

Holly is a Goldendoodle (mother was a golden retriever and her dad a full size poodle). She weighs about 55 pounds (about 25 Kilograms) and has a very sweet personality although she would defend my wife or our little dogs if circumstances endangered them...

She will be 13 years old on Christmas Day (therefore her name, "Holly") and thankfully she is still going strong!

I wish that I had a doodle like her when I was a young single guy. Holly is an absolute "chick magnet":cool: As an example, when I was shooting this image in the wilds of Utah, a cute gal stopped in her passing car to ask me what kind of dog Holly is:eek:
