I'd definitely take the first one as well, Wendy.

Two points:

1. The use of negative space is fine, but in the second version I think there's too much
2. The shape and texture, and pattern on the main leaf (amd on the snow surrounding it) are such that they deserve/need the attention you gave them, in v1.

Hi Wendy, thanks for your comment, I'm glad you like it. Actually I'm not an expert, but I guess the lenses helps a lot... I took this at 10mm, which in my camera is 15mm, and used a very small aperture to get some focus in the back.
