Re: 2018 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
I missed quite a bit of your series, especially liked the rich colors of week #17, the rabbit; frog; and raccoon were good as well. Week 20 is nice also, the frog is the best of the bunch; interesting depth of the rabbit shot, did you do selective sharpening on that image?

Hi John - Thank you for checking out my photo work. :) I've been enjoying the spring weather! Lots of plants and animals to use for subjects! Bullfrogs are interesting to me and I am always looking for an unusual pose even though they generally appear not to be doing much of anything. My goal is to catch one in mid-air jump! <lol> Maybe someday........ :D
The rabbit caught my eye because of the messiness of his fur. I'm wondering if the "he" could be female instead and the untidiness of the fur is from nest building since rabbits line their nests with their fur.
Yes, I did use some sharpening for the rabbit and a little bit around him to bring out the features a little better. Affinity Photo makes it easy for me to do this task. However, I have to be careful not to become too heavy handed about it. :)
I appreciate your comments. :)

Hi Sandy,
The frog in air shot might just be a matter of studying your subject, watching for their meal to get nearby, and just being at the ready. Hopefully you get your capture.

Hi John - I have to share one quick story. Not a long one. I tried last year for the "leaping shot" and knew that the bullfrog was about to be air born. I'd set my camera up and had it pointed to the spot where I thought my best chance would be. Well, fiddle.... They are very fast! All I got was rocks! But yes, I plan to keep trying! Thanks for the encouragement! :)

Good one, I had a similar incident with a turtle; they only move fast when they fall.

Hi Rudi - The asparagus has been delicious and the rabbit is still safely hopping about! Thank you for your comments! I enjoy hearing your thoughts! :)
Re: 2018 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
I think it is finally week 21..... :D I am lucky enough to have a nest of baby cardinals located in a bush right outside of the window by my computer desk. It is hidden under the branches near the ground so I cannot see it to get pictures without causing a lot of misery to the babies, so I have not bothered them.
However I can catch momma cardinal flitting about. Poppa was working hard for several days but he hasn't been seen for the last week. Not sure what happened to him. I wanted to get some pictures of him as well but when he was still coming, it was late evening and my attempts for his pics are filled with "noise". :(
So I do have a few of her that I think made the grade. Also there is one more of her that I posted in the lastest mini-contest. Hope you enjoy seeing her! Comments always welcome! :)

All good photos, Sandy. Maybe just a fraction of background noise with #1 but nothing overly serious.

Noise is always a puzzle especially in this case with the camera settings so close to the same. I ought to check the time...maybe I took this one later in the evening. <hummm>

Hi Nandakumar - This one is probably just a lucky photo but since she is flying back and forth just outside of my window, I can sit here and be ready for possibilities. I'll be glad when her little ones leave the nest but I will also be a bit sad too because then she will not have a reason for being so close to me for picture opportunities.
Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi John - she has been fun to have for photo opportunities! Thanks for commenting! :)

I agree with the comments on the Cardinals Sandy, a great set!! The in flight being my favourite, closely followed by 'the crazy hairstyle' in nr 1, like the way it looks at you.

Hi Rudi - Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you enjoy these cardinal pics. :) I'll miss her when her babies leave the nest! She'll probably be in the yard afterward but not as close up as she has been!
Re: 2018 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
Speaking of baby cardinals, one of them decided to venture to the top of the bush in hopes that he'd be fed first. He didn't stay long because the sunshine was very hot but again it was a treat to see him! I was struck by the fact that he hasn't any color yet of the beautiful bird he will become!
