In my opinion, Thayne, everything is perfect about that photo except that you are shooting directly into a strong light which, no matter what you did, was bound to cause technical problems.
But I suspect that with a tiny bit of careful enhancement you should be able to get a little more from it in the way of contrast and details.
Thanks everyone. I have to say, being new at CiC and not being much of a professional photographer at all I was a little nervous coming into such a society. But, everyone has been very kind and honest and I appreciate that. I feel welcome here and am sure with the suggestions I can improve my photography. Thanks again.

I think a touch more light on the middle flower would have helped. But you shot it on the G1, so who can crit...:rolleyes:
Thanks Rob - It was surprisingly close. I love the Christmas Cactus it definitely deserved the win. Just wait till I get myself some lights and a slab of that shiny black stuff though LOL :p. Seriously though, you've been a great help this summer with my floral shots. I've done much better than last summer and the ones I like all have that Carregwenesque look.
