Thanks Sandy. It has been warm enough for them to leave for a while I think. I have been going to see them in short sleeves

Have not posted for a while; sometimes life gets in the way of photography. :) However I have been taking photos just not been able posting them, for reasons not connected with Tiny Pics :). All is resolved now and I am happy to recommence posting.
The Tall Ships are vising Hamilton this weekend and I caught a few shots seen here. The day was partly overcast with the light breaking through from time to time. The ships were in Hamilton Harbour Bay and were close to the extreme range of my 250mm lens. There was a haze over the background:

These images seem a fraction on the soft side here but they nicely sharpen up when viewed in the Lightbox option.
All nice images :)
Nice shots. I really like the texture of the water - various shades of blue! Nice! :)
Nice series.
Thanks Geoff. I can see some softness now. I think that I had inadvertently selected automatic AF points instead of Manual which I normally shoot with. This probably allowed the camera to select something from foreground or background to focus on. I did not notice that right away, so some of my shots were probably out of focus. I still have half of the shots taken in this shoot to process . Hopefully they will become sharper later in the shoot. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Thanks John.
Thanks Sandy. It is a beautiful Bay!
Thanks Nandakumar. Happy you liked them!
I think the little bit of softness is probably due to the light angle which is creating a bit of haze, Joe, which is made worse in the lower resolution initial thread images. Definitely much better with the Lightbox view.
I especially like the last image of the set Joe . Those flying red flags really add to the image by increasing the sense of movement. Also nice blue and greens, very natural looking image :)
Thanks Binnur. That one was my favorite also.
Thanks Geoff.
