Colin, The answer is Elements 8, like a lot of us here, so this should be possible :)
Raylee, Donald is right, a big improvement in a short time, well done.
Personally, I find the border a little too wide (for the contained image size), and bright, but that's just me :rolleyes:
Cor I just had a windowzzzz update and my PAINT.NET started working :D I tried a fill gradient since gradient map is something to do with changing greyscale to colour, and it is really good. :)

Or new layer,set foreground colour to black,paint bucket tool and change blanding mode of the new layer to soft light and density as Your taste says(around 40 said mine)

Now we play a little only with Enhance,adjust lighting,levels,channel,green(18 1,13 194) then red(11 1,09 224) and finally...to be not upset....the bluuue( 33 1,4 232 )
