Thank you for your comment Friso about the image and PP.

Thank you for your C&C Dave -- I appreciate that. I will modify it later today. As I want to learn some new PP techniques, I think I am going to use this image for some experimentation as well.

My only minor observation is that in the first, with Corey being closer to the fencing, it is sharper than ideal and it might be worth a quick swipe down those straight lines with a suitable radius blur brush, so they look more like they do in the second.
Just a thought, given their quality.
Cheers, Dave

Thank you Wendy.
Corey lost his companion a month ago ~ he's still adjusting to life without another horse. Some of the shots I took that morning had a bit of a spook in his eye, which I didn't like - perhaps you picked up a glimpse of that in the second shot.

In the second shot something about the look on his face makes me sad. He looks tired, like he wants to play but the look says This is not as easy as it used to be. Spirit willing body weak.... Great shots, beautiful horse
Re: Love of the first snowfall
Wow, what a NICE compliment ~ thanks for making my day Dan!!!
The posts are wood, but yes the fence is plastic w/a wire that runs through it. There are also two strands of braided electric fence (keeps the horse from rubbing on the fence and causing a lot of damage), and hopefully also keeps other larger critters out. I gave Richard the link above -- they have some great stuff.

That's an interesting looking fence. Is it plastic and electric wire?
Re: Love of the first snowfall
I had another go at the first image - incorporated Dave's comments below and also took some artistic liberties after giving the image additional thought. Interested to hear thoughts -- thank you

Wow, amazing images!
Have you tried a black and white conversion?
Re: Love of the first snowfall
Thanks for commenting Matt.
I was curious about that as well, so yes I did. My preference is the color version above; I feel it loses a lot in B&W... but I may be bias as I love Corey's coloring.
Here it is:

Kim, excellent shots. Normally I'm not a horse person but these are great.

Re: Love of the first snowfall
Such great captures of Corey's enthusiasm for snow! Made me remember a pony we had that loved to roll in the snow until he got his tender parts in the snow! Then he'd jump up, shake hard and run like crazy! Fun to watch!
Thanks for the pictures and the memories! I like #1 and I think your touch up of #1 added something extra. I think the B&W is okay but I like the color better! He is a beautiful horse! :)
Re: Love of the first snowfall
Thank you for your comment Sandy ~ glad they sparked some nice memories.
Color for me as well :-)
Corey use to be my show horse. He was a "hunter" - we jumped a series of 8 jumps in competition. He took good care of me, and I promised to take good care of him. So many people in the US treat their horses as throwaways - makes me sad.
