So maybe this will be a monthly photo log instead of weekly? I usually never post pictures of my child, but I really do like this picture. He loves trains, and there is a train museum with old restored cars you can climb and play on, and it's right next to a very large junction of about 6 or so tracks. It's obviously his favorite place to play, and we had some nice weather this week, and I was able to capture this on my phone. Slightly edited in Aviary.

Nice scene, Sam. Maybe you could get away with carefully adding a little more brightness but I would still want to keep the shadows fairly dark to add a bit of contrast and avoid any of the sky over exposing. The top rail is cropped a fraction tight while you could afford to lose a tad from the bottom rail. But that isn't a serious issue.
I decided to bring my gear to the train depot, and tried my hand at photographing a train as it came by. I figured if I'm going to be out and about, may as well try to get some shooting in!

Nice efforts.
Hey good shots. That is one idea for part of the project -- trains, moving trains...should be fun. Do you have any more?
Looks good, particularly the first one with a nice sharply focused foreground.
Thanks guys. It was a slow train day, so that was the only train I was able to capture, and only those two shots. I did a slight crop, and cloned out some vertical pipes out from on side of the tracks that were distracting. I left one in on the far side of the second picture.
Hey guys, still alive, but loads happening in my world. First this: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...862d47b384.jpg
Then I got a promotion at work which entailed an almost exact opposite schedule. My head is now hitting the pillow when I used to leave for work.
This is one of the few "non-snap" shots I've had recently http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...57a2ea3fbf.jpg

Beautiful!y clear with really !g nice tone. I like it
Caught out (again) with only my iPhone, we took the boy to an old rail station which has been (relatively) well kept. There was also an old caboose that wasn't so nice.

That works OK. Nice camera angle.
Very colourful! I just noticed the Saints logo on the helmet and shield in your avatar. Who Dat?
Visiting family, deep in Mississippi, Wednesday night. I took my dslr on the initial trip to New Orleans, but it didn't make it into the car for the trip to MS, luckily my trusty iPhone was handy. I did get out last night for some shooting around Gretna, LA where I grew up just outside of New Orleans. Will process that when I get home later this week.

I prefer the first version, Sam, with reduced amount of dark foreground.
I think the second would be a very nice shot also if you could lighten up the shadows on the trees. The old house does add more interest in my opinion
