Re: Waiting for the Bite C&C welcomed
Hello again Kim,
To reply to your question to support you:
I proposed straightening of the horizontal line and to evaluate a crop. My initial vision concerning a crop was to the left; as a test. This to get the main object (the head, etc) slightly more in the same direction. More according to the Rule of Thirds, which impacts the perception of us the viewers.
However after the execution of the straighting of the horizontal line, which was key IMHO, ... everything has fallen into place ... and the image with the rest of its characteristics is magical to view. :)
Hope this makes you glad to learn. Have a nice day.

Very intense. Impressive. Evocative.
Is that enough?

Thanks for commenting Pica. I was interested in what you saw as a crop, as I wasn't seeing anything that would work and keep the power of the image. I'm glad the straightening worked.

Beautiful girl and image Dean -- those GSD eyes!
I know how that goes, Raven (my standard poodle) has me starting obedience training at the end of the month ;-)

She is very friendly, but can be intimidating if the need arises. Keep the photos coming.

Re: Waiting for the Bite C&C welcomed
Here's to the weekend, which I hope finds you home and getting replenished. Thank you for being generous with your time/assistance.
Appreciate your views on this image.
My settings on this were 1/640s; F4; 70mm; ISO 4000. I was waiting for the dog to come thru the door, so that's why the shutter speed is up... and I didn't know when that was going to happen... and I didn't want to open up much more than F4. I did use my D3S on this day as I knew I would be inside, I knew the lighting would be poor, and this camera handles a high ISO much better.

To capture emotion is evidence of the RAPPORT, Understanding and Empathy you have with the Subject.
To exacerbate and reinforce those emotions and to make them so easily and readily conveyed to the Viewer by use of: the low camera angle; the perspective of the shot; Shallow DoF & Selective Focus; Square-on Aspect & Geometricty of Composition; and to use the LH side wall of the room (some main examples only) - are evidence of your creative juices at work.
The B&W conversion is very good.

What ISO did you choose? :)
Re: Waiting for the Bite C&C welcomed
That appears a technically good image at ISO4000. Good job.

Great shot Kim and a great opportunity!
