Hi James: Besides freaking Colin out, you've also helped me to identify some shots that I took recently. I believe what I have here is a different variety of convolvulous, which I had often seen before, but could not identify.

I like the outline on the leaves. Please don't tell me it's chromatic abberation, because I think it looks nice. :)

I do not think its chromatic aberation. When I process I tend to use Levels for speed and quite often I think I've slightly overcooked the saturation with plant life.

Still havn't quite worked out if I'm imagining it, but thats a nice specimen of yours and I agree youve ccaught the pink blush brilliantly. (we have the same variety over her, but oddly I've only seen the white flowers this year!

As regards freaking Colin.... I can only bow my head in shame ....:)

Hi James: I know what you mean about overcooking, it's so easy with flowers. I tend to go from one extreme to the next. All floweres tend to look good to me though.

Your convolvulous in this post does not look overdone at all, and you are right about the blooms. They are huge. The pinkish ones in my post are only about half the size of the leaves. I've seen the white ones around here too, and the flowers are always smaller than the leaf. Someone must have hit yours with some Miracle Grow.

Think I'll go back when its finished flowering and take a piece and see if I can't introduce it in my garden.

:eek: That plant is a major weed here and when people see it in their gardens, they get this slightly doomed feeling. It spreads like wild-fire, both by seed and by underground runners and is the very devil itself to exterminate. Grows rampantly over everything and literally strangles all your precious ones to death. In fact, I can't think of anyone who has actually managed to keep it at bay once it gets hold.

LOL - sounds like it won't be too difficult to introduce into his garden!

Very nice, Chriss: I'm impressed that you can do that hand-held. I wouldn't even try. Which should probably serve to remind us: go ahead and try it, you have 200,000 shutter activations, you really don't need to conserve them.

That first one is a great image, Wendy: you've composed it well to show the heart-shapes running along the diagonal, and handled the tones very nicely to capture the subtle edges.

I find myself going, more and more, to specific locations that I have previously identified as possibles. But on the way to and from there, there might be other things that look interesting.

I have some difficulty on getting themas / objects / whatever to shoot.
I don't find any interest in places I know already. I think on locations - and there are some - but they didn't fit with my timetable.
But I have one or two days with not so much to do and I am going to try to shoot something better ...
