First trip to the Grand Canyon - which lens?

Numerous question come to mind...camera/physical ability/goals/PP skills/the list is endless.

It is my opinion that one cannot capture spectacular images without working the scene,
which is virtually impossible while being part of a tour. Memory images...yes.
If your goal is a fun, education, excursion...be happy with memory pictures.

If your halfway serious about great images...forego the trip to the bottom and work the rim.
