Another great shot Babrbara. The American Spoonbill always looks so prehistoric. The Spoonbill we get in Europe (and occasionally in the UK) looks much more mundane.

Thanks John, They are really beautiful in breeding plumage here when not only the almost fuchsia pink but also orange feathers come in. They are beautiful in flight but then up close, well as you say, prehistoric. I must admit the first time I saw them was in flight. When it landed and I got an up close look at it I was a little taken aback! In non breeding plumage they tend to be just pink and white and not as pretty.
One of the more original comps of a bird in quite a while, I love it.
