Here's some interesting reflections on a large office building downtown--took last summer. Also a neat self portrait.

The Morning in the park, i can not pass this picture,

This was taken at the Endau-Rompin State Park in Pahang, Malaysia, in Oct 2010. The sky was heavily overcast and sunrise that morning was disappointing.

This was taken last summer at Rutland Water in Leicestershire, UK. It is very unusual to see a church in this type of location but it is the only thing that was left of an old settlement when the area was flooded to create the reservoir. It is now a museum I believe but was a monastry originally.

For some reason, I haven't been in this thread for some time (they all come too thick and fast for my old brain!).
Lovely stuff. I can see that last one by Marie-Josee used advertising some sort of exhibition or concert. There are some nice black spaces on the right (top and bottom) that would take the text.

This was taken some time ago. I walk or drive past this place almost every day but have never seen these conditions recreated

Hi Donald - I have requested that the original post be deleted and have re-posted with a bigger image. I think I posted the iPhoto thumbnail by mistake.

Taking the two together and, for ease, referring to them as #1 and #2 (as I think they provide a good opportunity for a compare and contrast exercise) ..........
#1#2
In #1 the building and, of course, its reflection provide a good strong line taking us into the frame. The river in #2 provides that, but, in my opinion, not as strongly.
I like the composition and framing of #1. There's interest in all parts of the frame. And although we have the reflection of the tower/fortress (?) coming to the bottom of teh frame in #2, I feel there's an awful lot of 'dead' space where there's nothing much happening so far as the water is concerned.
I see there is, I think, a bird on the walkway just in the sunlight in #2. I wonder if that would have been a much better location for this shot than the bridge which you are standing on.
That's one person's thoughts. There will be others no doubt. And remember, they are only my thoughts and can be dismissed as readily as they can be accepted.
