I like the wide angles! Great photography and lesson!

Thanks David! It was a good lesson for me at the time, as a wiser person than me once said, photography is an exercise in problem solving.
Re: Sport with a different lens perspective
Just like to add my congrats on these Kay,
As many others have said; that #5 is super - the one that really got my attention.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't notice the shadow on #1 (without help), but it's also great!
Cheers, Dave
Re: Sport with a different lens perspective
+1 on Donalds comments about the wider angle shots, very good indeed :)
Re: Sport with a different lens perspective
Thanks Dave & Gerry,
I was trying to capture the umpire's shadow with one arm pointing & the other with the whistle, I thought that would look kind of cool with her looming large on the court & players around her, but didn't manage that one, this time anyway. I'll try again :)
Re: Sport with a different lens perspective
I'm late to the party but I have to say how well those wide angle shots turned out. Getting more than one player in the scene makes all the difference.

Thankyou Greg, it proved so much easier to follow the action as well.
Sometimes it took a little longer for the wing/centre players to feed the shooters on my side, but a lot of photography is a waiting game I've found.
