Thanks Phil. One convenient thing is that I spend a lot of my days driving all over the emirate for meetings and site visits, etc. I now plan to have my camera with me at all times, and will keep an eye out. Any tips would be greatly appreciated though.

Two places off the beaten track but well worth a slightly earlier alarm call for a diversion:
If you're on your way to Al Ain on the E66, then just after the Sevens Rugby ground there's a camel race track - early in the morning and you'll have the camels doing training runs:

And if you're travelling up to Barracuda then a little further up the E11, just after Al Hamra Fort Hotel on the left is a 'ghost town' - well worth a trip in:

Try scooting along the coast on the E11 and just south of the little port you'll see it
