Re: 2015 Project 52 - 1st quarter - Kaye Leggett - week 12 - Granada (very late)
This post is very late....... but I have been out of good wifi range and then had to make a mad dash home, so week 12 and 13 will come quickly together....Here is week 12 and a trip to Granada and of course, the Alhambra.
For those of you have been here, you will know what an iconic place that it is. I took over 400 photos in two days, but set myself the challenge to pick my favourite three to sum up the day......... well I almost succeeded and narrowed the choice to three sets of three.
1. The views
a - From a viewpoint looking towards the Alhambra - sunset

b - The view of town from the Alhambra - 'a' in reverse I suppose

c - From the 'garden house' looking back to the palace, although the tower would not have been there in the Moors' time - it is a Christian add on

2. The interior
a

3. The water

c

And to make it a round 10, perhaps my favourite in terms of concept, but I'm not sure I got the water sharp enough

Which one do you like best ? (or maybe I should have hijacked a mini competition ??)
Other C&C also welcome
:)

Very nice Kaye, too hard to pick a favorite, but I love the interior shots, well done you:)

Right on the money -- exactly what I was thinking of because these fats can be volatile in summer months.

Nice captures, especially the fountain images.

1a is a classic shot and 1b has great clarity. The interior shots have good fine detail under what must have been difficult shooting conditions.

Thanks Dave, Izzie, John and Geoff. The difficult conditions were more missing people than anything else, boy was it busy ! And thanks Geoff for the 'classic' comment: It follows from my how not just to take snaps comment....if I can turn the snap into a classic then I'll take that.
Re: 2015 Project 52 - 1st quarter - Kaye Leggett - week 13 - Back through France
We had to make a quick journey home from Portugal and drove 1620 miles over 6 days. So opportunities for photographs weren't many. But I did take some in Bordeaux, posted elsewhere, and a quick pit stop in the Loire. Here are a few of these
The first, taken on my phone if only to prove the best camera you have is the one with you

And here is a very stormy view of Amboise Chateau in the Loire valley - the sun came out for just long enough for me to grab these photos. I played with the colour of the sky on the first two in PP - not sure if it works or not ?

I have a few of these from a few different angles/points along the bridge. I was playing with the natural curves of the river but not sure it works. Perhaps the river is just too wide for it to be successful. There is something not quite right and I can't put my finger on it - your suggestions are welcome

We're now back home for a few weeks so the subject matter will be more challenging. But I am still enjoying the whole challenge - each week seems to bring it's own dimension, so I am learning lots. Thank you too you all for your continued comments and encouragement

Nicely done, that first one looks like a spy shot.
Nice work on the chateau.
Re: 2015 Project 52 - 1st quarter - Kaye Leggett - week 13 - Back through France
I like week 12 and week 13 Kaye. I love the wine shot, interesting composition and nice colors . For the last photo (river), may be a B&W conversion works better but it is difficult to say without seeing :)
Re: 2015 Project 52 - 1st quarter - Kaye Leggett - week 13 - Back through France
All work well.
With the river scene, I wonder about reducing the foreground a little and going for a wider size ratio?
Re: 2015 Project 52 - 1st quarter - Kaye Leggett - week 13 - Back through France
I will skip the river thingie...can't say any improvement so far anyway...but I like the three others, especially #3 and #4...it tells its own story there...#1 is quite good too but I suppose I will prefer the face to be shot the other way around to eliminate the offending body of your husband (?) What I mean is his face on the glass alone if you had shoot from behind him...
