Very nice series Grahame :) Have you noticed how red and yellow leaves suit compositions like #1 and #2 ? It would be a good idea to shoot it again in fall with lots of red and yellow leaves. Actually , such a nice place that it would be nice to shoot it each season to see how everything changes in the scenes in time.

I'm pleased you like them Vaez.
PP is an area I am still learning and experimenting with the different type of scenes I photograph. My main aim is simply to produce an image that looks natural at a 1200/1400px width with no signs of over-processing.

The polarizer will make the most difference in bringing out colors that might otherwise be hidden by reflection. Moss on rocks and colorful rocks beneath the water are two things that are often obscured by reflected light. Green foliage also benefits in general and particularly when it's wet. Personally I hate the hassle of dealing with filters but a CPL used in the right conditions can make a huge difference.
Thanks Dan,
Yes, it's certainly a new area to explore, lots of streams and one day I will get to some decent waterfalls although these are well off the tracks from what I can find out so far.
Using the filters was a bit of a hassle but this time I had prepared myself with a plastic container that could be put on any surface next to me, so simple but made things easy. With the lens I used the front rotates so the procedure was, remove the ND from the Cokin holder after the shot and place in container, focus and frame next shot, rotate CPL using a finger on the Cokin holder to get least reflection on rocks, replace ND whilst holding filter holder so it did not rotate, adjust exposure and shoot a few. Care and discipline needed but well worth it.

Hi Binnur and thanks for commenting.
I had actually considered removing the leaves and debris before shooting but no doubt I would have got wet.
There are no seasons here that make a noticeable difference to the leaf fall, they fall and replace themselves on the vast majority of trees continuously. The major difference in times of year is the humidity and at present its good but in a couple of months will be really stifling especially in these rain forest areas.

As you indicated some planning ahead on how you will handle things pays dividends in the field. There are some situations (and shooting falls/streams is one of them) when even with today's tech there is still no substitute for CPL and ND filters.
Looking forward to your continuing exploration of the island.

Thank you Shawn, hopefully I will have some more to add if the weather holds out for this weekend.
Re: Mountain Stream & Views
Nice series, I like the dreamlike stream images most, 1st image would have benefited from a bit more background to lead the viewer's gaze through the scene.

Fully agree about more background in No 1 John and I'll make this a priority on my next attempts.
Attempting the silky stream water is something new to me so pleased you like them although I understand it's not everyone cup of tea but we have to try these things:)
