I'm curious though, coming from Brisbane, how did you handle the cold
Not very well Greg ! It's worse than Tassie :)

Oh Issie you are awful :) - did you hear about the Kiwi woman who popped out to get some fush and chups for her cuds before sex....;)

Reminds me of a trip to Brisbane - in the morning the locals were talking about how cold it was last night and how some had to get up and put an extra blanket on the bed ... and there was me lying on top of the bed the whole night tossing and turning whilst reciting "gawd this is hot!"

Re: The Remarkables, Queenstown New Zealand
People who have been there have told me that NZ is the most beautiful place on Earth. Your superb photos of The Remarkables confirm that.

The only thing I'd raise is that little rocky outcrop cutting the edge of the frame on the left-hand side. Is it a distraction? If so, would it be worth cropping a tiny amount left and top (to keep the aspect ratio) to get rid of it?

England is a lovely country but I would not place it first...

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! !
I assume this is in response to my post above. Can I point out THAT SCOTLAND IS NOT ENGLAND.
We've spent 300 years battling this nonsense that Scotland is just a bit of England. We are a nation whose statehood was sold to a Union by a minority of vested interests in 1707. On 18th September this year, many of us are determined to claim it back.
Don't call us a bit of England.
ps - You live in a very beautiful part of Australia.

Thanks Shane. You should do the trip sometime, it's not that far from Hawaii :)

Thanks Donald, your comments mean a lot to me. I'm not sure whether the rocky outcrop you mention is a distraction but it is a bit untidy and adds nothing to the image. I could clone it out quite easily.

All stunning Dave, the air quality must surely assist the clarity that they show.

I was listening to talk-back radio one night (here in NZ!) and the announcer had an American travel agent on the phone. Announcer said he was calling from NZ, but the agent didn't know where that was -- until the announcer told him that it was "the capital of Australia"! Oh yeah - I've been there said the agent. Announcer said afterwards that he felt a bit guilty for saying that!

That was a cruel joke, Colin...it still made me laugh though...:p
