nimi- I'm an East Texan with a backwoods vocabulary. Thanks for reacquainting me with my spell check. :)
Shot selection, composition, focus, exposure and even holding the camera still are all going to make a far bigger influence on the image than the slight difference in "tested" lens performance... especially if you never print bigger than A3.

I'm on the fence but leaning towards these two lenses. ...or just the 28-300mm for now...and behind a nikon Df. :) decisions, decisions. This could be one expensive trip.

I'm heading there in early September with a D7100 and expect to use my 12-24mm, 24-85mm (D lens) and 70-300 most of the time. I will also be taking a tripod and a few other lenses.
I generally fill up my messenger bag and play around with various combos along the way. I will most likely be also taking the 10.5mm fisheye and the 60mm AF-D Micro-Nikkor.

Well shoot, guess I'll have to borrow from somewhere else then. ...I'm hesitant to spend the money, but if I figure there was ever a time to spurge on camera equipment, this would be the time.
We'll be there in late September.
The camera shop I go to gave me a 28-300 to try out for the weekend. I'll try and post some pictures early next week.
