re: How good is your colour perception? cont to gamut pointer discussion
Oh, perfect score for me. Guess my 2009 non-calibrated MacBook Pro (not the retina technology ones) and I are quite fitted for each other (will find a spyder to calibrate him, it seems good to display colours even if possibly not accurate right now).
Thanks a lot for sharing :). Having strong myopia (and astygmatia), I'm surprised and glad to know something actually works fine with my eyes :D.

Just one thing, was the color gradient on the result page supposed to be displayed smooth ? I see it full of irregularities.

Ok, had one last go and scored 8. Happy with that but Cindy still says I'm a loser ;)
Ps, my 17 year old step daughter just got a perfect score.
I'm copping some flak here from the females in the household at the moment. Think I will go play in the shed or something :(
re: How good is your colour perception? cont to gamut pointer discussion
Theres only one answer Greg DIVORCE... but skulking in the shed is probably loads less hassle:D

Yep, been through that once Mark, never again and besides the shed is where the beer fridge is :D

sounds like a win win situation then, you need to be a loser more often! :D

I did the test earlier in the day with daylight lighting at my back and scored 11
Re did the test just now (night here) with the lighting the same as normally used when editing photographs and took a bit more care and scored 3.
The screen has been calibrated but only using test and reference charts/images. In the past I have had to adjust photographs that I have edited with daylight lighting behind me.

That's a good score Paul.
I sent a link off to the guy I am in painting business with and both he and his wife scored 4.
Reckon I will let him tint colours on the job from now on
As a side note, light plays a big part in my line of work, I had a customer complain that I had painted their bathroom walls green when I had really painted them white. What had happened was when they got home late afternoon, the sun was shining through the leaves of an elm tree and cast a green tint on the walls. They were a bit embarrassed when they found out their mistake

Thanks Greg - I only got back from Sydney yesterday - I am sure once my eyes recover I can score better :)
Must test my eyes on Tasmania sometime.

Why not ply your wife with drinks from the fridge and then get her to retake the test (screaming children, a barking dog or revving up the bike just behind her may also help)
re: How good is your colour perception? cont to gamut pointer discussion
L.Paul brings up an interesting point...my monitor came with a light shield (a black cardboard cover surrounding the monitor that extended out about 18") that some folks use.
It was such a PITA that I took it off. But, would we not have all done better on that test without any ambient light spilling onto that monitor??

All good suggestions mate but knowing Cindy it would only make her more determined to better any score I could manage and Tasmania is worth a visit, pretty place, just don't make it in winter pretty cold, wet and miserable then
Re: How good is your colour perception? cont to gamut pointer discussion
Age: 50
Score: 4
Calibrated Macbook Pro Retina
I do wear glasses and was worried that I would get a poor score, but I am very happy with the result.

I'm 73 and scored 11. I'm using a near new calibrated Dell S2740L.
