Hi, Mark. Indeed, it is sad to see such wonderful species disappearing. They tried to find a female from George's species over the last 4 decades, without success. Also, they tried to mate him with other females from close tortoise species, but they never had success. With regards to these species I showed here, there is a nice initiative at Charles Darwin Reserch Center (there is a Darwin reserch center in many islands of Galápagos), where they breed the tortoises, to increase their population.

Hi, Frank. Yes, I did see many young ones. They have a very nice initiative at Charles Darwin Reserch station. I shot tome babies there. I am not home now, but as soon as I get back from work I would share some images of the babies!

This is a place that one day I will visit. So I'm curious Otavio, did it meet with your expectations?
While the tortoises are iconic to the Galapagos, did you get any shots of any of the other indigenous species?

Hahaha, take good care of your health, practice physical activities everyday, eat only low fat meals and you will be able to do it @ the age of 150! Cheers,

Hello Jack. It did meet my expectations. Actually, it overcame them. There are lots of other species there. I am currently working on the images. I already published 3 threads (1 - Blue-footed booby, 2- This one and 3 - Tintorera Islet). I also shot Iguanas, Sea lions, Frigates, etc. More threads to come soon!
