Re: Learning Landscapes - Another try at a dramatic sky
Patrick, thank you for advising and for sharing that amazing video. I've only watched the first minute but I will watch the rest of it later today. It is inspiring, and yes that is likely true but I will try.
David... Thank you. I headed out early this morning and tried some more landscapes, and they include lots of clouds but I also tried to include other scenery that was of interest. No doubt I will post them in a week or so.
Re: Learning Landscapes - Another try at a dramatic sky
I like the second and third composition, the first is a bit abrupt.

If you get the chance, definitely watch the rest! :) Especially from the 4 minute mark on, which has a lot of interesting cloud formations and the main reason I recommended it. The video is actually very inspiring and the photos attainable with dedication (the guy spent 150 full days during a year away from home  ), the only discouraging part of it for me is that a lot of the storm sequences would be hard for me to time and find in my situation (and that's not mentioning the danger of being in a lightning storm with a bunch of metal

Cloud shots are always good!!!!!!!:)

John... thank you for your honest feedback... Can you please elaborate on abrupt so I can learn from it.
Patrick... I have every intention of watching the rest of the video, and will likely do so a couple of times... :)
George... thank you. I have more in my pocket. :)

Hi Christina,
With the crop you used the foreground to horizon ratio is too short, it gives the appearance of a smaller scene making the ship look miniature.

Thank you John. Appreciated and good for me to think of for future shots.

Only one person's opinion, others may disagree.
