Graffiti on man made structures has never really bothered me. In many instances graffiti improves man made structures. It is when graffiti spoils the beauty of nature that I find it a selfish deed of those not wishing others to enjoy the unspoiled beauty they found when they got there.
Graffiti on man made structures in my area is a crime, usual punishment if caught is you have to clean up your art (vandalism), sometimes leading to jail time if you are a habitual defacer of public property. What amuses me is the age of these taggers, I can see a fifteen year old doing it, but some of these taggers are in their late twenties. Time to start buying your own canvas at that age.
I'm in two minds about it. The ones that write the obscenities I don't have any time for -- but some of them are - frankly - pretty artistic (and can make for great backdrops!)
