Ramachandran : Thanks for taking the time to comment! And you are correct, the original looks almost b+w anyway, but is mostly washed out. So I thought the conversion, with some sharpening would help it to pop. The focus is pretty sharp, and so I was sure if I had enough dynamic range, it would make a very cool b+w photo.

John : Thanks very much for the compliment! I run long distance, but there's nothing similar between running, and hiking through deep snow with gear! It was definitely a little tiring!

Terry : Long time no chat!! Thanks for taking the time to stop and comment on my photo! In all honesty, I am more of a tropical guy, myself... But I've come to terms (after 30 some years), that I live in Canada, and what you say is absolutely true. I've equipped myself with some decent cold weather gear, even for camping (:eek:), and it's really not that bad. Enjoyable, even!
