Pretty sure Jable has the correct name for it. The elbow wasn't dislocated and the swelling went down after a few days as the liquid dispersed. It turned lovely shades of purple and yellow.

My experience is this- A holiday on beautiful Lord Howe Island in the Pacific, walked 7km to a high cliff top, 3 metres from the track end I staked my calf on a dry shrub branch. Handkerchief and camera strap did the bandaging to stop the bleeding. walked back to the village, doctor hard to find (at a funeral). Days later the wound oozed muck all over the hospital carpet, surgery for timber extraction followed, I was ill the whole flight home back to Aus. Didn't stop me going back for another holiday there! A fantastic place.
