I only use the menu to activate something special like mirror lock up, to format a card something like that. Normal shooting all controlled by the buttons/dials.
The main advantage of high end consumer and pro cameras is that this is what has been done; frequently used functionality is available through on-camera controls that can be accessed without taking one's eye away from the viewfinder, rather than via menus as per the entry-level and mid-range consumer offerings.
