Should I send you the shipping fee then by implication I am ashamed of using a pun. I see your point, and shoot, I am exposed. My sensor humour runs towards puns. I know some people feel punsters should be shot with a canon or subjected to a pen tax, I feel they should be elevated to Olympus or nigh. Con opinions exist. I shutter to think you believe I am dodging and burning my bridge. Negative images are often developed by processing black and white subjects. By contrast, many grey tones exist. Immediate dislike of puns gives one a narrow aperture, or lens, to view, find err and judge. A wide angle view of the landscape gives a full frame portrait. Leica it or not, puns can be fun.
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Superb, Trevor. Earns you many brownie points!
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Recommended the EOS 1DX to me also. I used Mikes idea of showing the wife how much I "saved"...sorry to say it didn't work. Maybe if I find it on sale AND I have a coupon she will go for it?:D That's the way she does it ALL the time.
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Absolutely WAY too funny, Trevor! You made my day.

Ha!
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
The first test came back a recommendation, the Canon 1DX. I then did the test a second time to see what happens when i select all the options to "point" the program towards a point-and-shoot model and it came back with a Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR. Does look as though the selection matrix is not totally bogus.
I do not mind the 1DX but sadly have to settle for something that i can afford; ordered myself a 5D III today. :)
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Canon EOS 1D X for me but at 6K's plus for that I don't think so:rolleyes:
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
I guess we can get a bulk discount, since we all or most of us have to buy the Canon EOS 1D X, right? :)

Yes, your on to it. I said I would pay over $600 for a camera so maybe $601?
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Can I just say, don't waste your time with that website.
It doesn't give an option for XQD card preference so it can not possibly produce the expected result. It probably doesn't even have the camera in its question bank. Definitely fixed.
Just a load of rubbish.
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
I should get the EOS 1Dx, so I suppose my Nikon can't do all the things they mentioned. Will start trading it in now :-(

It recommended a 1Dx for me too -- thank goodness I already have one!
I tried to throw it off the scent a little with things like "prefer Nikon" etc, but still came back with 1Dx.
Pity, as I thought the questions it asked were actually quite good ... just a pity it seems to screw the processing of them up a "bit".
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Found out the web master for that site works for Canon:D
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Canon EOS 1DX, even though I said that I prefer Nikon...
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Interesting link. It brought back memories from 30 years ago being involved in a UK gas turbine Company's computerized "Option Selection, Costing And Recording System" know as OSCAR. It was my job to enter "selection parameters" for my electronic speed governor design. Then, some 25 years later, there I was at a US compressor Company, doing the same thing for a "Configurator", designing selection parameters and screens for control panels.
Couldn't get through the link pages (got bored) and we should always be suspicious of YES/NO selections. A weighted, 0-10 approach is so much better - but then they would have to use fuzzy logic to determine that the answer is a Canon 1D, not a Pentax ;-)
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Ted there seems to be no doubt they are using fuzzy logic but unfortunately not in the true programming sense.
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
Well guess what it's a Canon EOS 1D X for me as well. Not sure how I will fit that into my pocket. ;-)
Re: Take the Camera Configurator Test
I was hoping for a 1DX...
Instead it told me to just poke a hole in the end of a shoebox!
