Re: The Winner Takes It All...
Nandakumar, I would say that you should correct a little chromatic aberration on the left bull's leg and that maybe youl should consider increasing the light a bit to bring more details, but forget it!! This is a terrific shot! A shot that few people in the world will have a chance to make. If you know that guy, tell him that he showed us the real meaning of craziness!!!! Thanks for sharing this!

Great capture Nandakumar,
I looked at the EXIF out of curiosity (we have too many cats anyway and won't miss one);
Canon 400D at 228mm, 1/1000s, f6.3, iso400. Good choices there!
If I have one minor suggestion; it would be that if I were cropping this;
I'd take a little more off the bottom edge, to get the subject a bit lower in the frame.
I'd choose to slice just above the bright bar of reflected sky that extends across most of the frame, the lowest 55 - 60 pixels of the 1:1 view here.
Cheers,
thank you very much for your kind words; i feel your suggestions would work; thank you once again :D

Thank you very much sir; yes it is a great subject to view and capture :D

This buffalo jet ski is a sport in India? What is the name of this sport?;)
If you can, take and share more photos!
Congratulations,
Antonio.
Thank you very much Antonio; yes this is common in Kerala, but only on a certain period of year, post harvesting; Actually the game was legally banned by central government of India; but under special request from States permission was availed for some states provided the animals are not tortured for a victory.... and the place is will be marooned by photgraphers from all part of the state; blessed the ones who get vantage positions. i took them a few years back; i want to take some more, if possible this year....
By the way locally it is called :"Kaala pootte" or "Kannu pootte"(please don't try pronouncing it) :lol:
Regards :D

Re: The Winner Takes It All...
Hi Nandakumar,
I think the first image is better; a clearer view of the left (as we look) beast and 'rider', I suspect the difference is all down to the 'luck' of the timing of the stride and the splash.
Re: The Winner Takes It All...
Thank you Dave; probably more clarity and vigor is seen in first
Regards :D
Re: The Winner Takes It All...
Nandakumar,
The second picture is also very good, but the first is better.
Besides sharper, the first photo shows more vigor (the first takes it all).
Interesting: In both photos, the buffalo that is on right side of conductor is much stronger than the other. This is deliberate or coincidence?
Thanks for sharing!
Antonio.
Re: The Winner Takes It All...
Thank you Very much Antonio..... Generally buffaloes here grow heavier than oxen, but their heights are low

That's not bad either, probably between the first two; good action - but I'd like a closer crop/bigger version and you might usefully raise the shadows a bit.
Hope that helps,
