I use Netscape Browser. With that you can download a little add-on that allows me to look at Exif data from other people's pictures ... if the data is embedded in the picture. If it's not, I can't.
Thanks, Donald, I never though of a plug-in. I actually use Chrome, found a plug-in and it works like a charm. Duh!
Re: Advise please, what i am missing here?
When using the 'built-in' flash there are two points, at least, to watch ... firstly that the lens hood does not shade part of the picture when using the wider end of the zoom ... secondly using the flash at full power is likely to burn out the subject so I have as a 'default' my flash set to minus one stop. On Photo.net a thread started by me had useful suggestions by more experienced of bouncing the flash up and from a white card what-have-you to soften the output normally crit as being too small and hard a light source, arrangement similar to a periscope.
Likely the ideal when using flash is to have the sunlight coming from behind the flowers and the flash is just strong enough to light the shadows cast by the sun without being noticeable as a light source. With the sun behind the flower the background will have a lot of shadow in it which the flash will not light up as it is too far behind. Light from any source falls off in power at the inverse square of the flash-to-object distance [ twice the distance a quarter the strength ]
