Yeah, but I lied. I do that a lot :)
But seriously - I've switched to using them in the studio for primary triggering of my Elinchrom heads. The Elinchrom skyports we're "OK", but I did get a bit annoyed at how they would fire 100 times in a row, and then miss the next 4 until I turned it off/on again etc. With the Plus II units, when they're triggered, they fire. 100.000000000% of the time. Never had a single non-trigger that I can remember.
On the 1Ds3 I used to use a Plus II, but it looks a little dated - so I thought I'd put a Plus III on the 1Dx, and keep the old setup as a spare (and also a camera that other photographers can use whilst in the studio) (often I can't link their own cameras into the tethering / 40" screen, which is a big disadvantage).
I still use the skyports for adjusting light power. Plus II & III aren't ETTL of course, but we don't use that in the studio anyway.

I just wonder if Colin is putting it on a separate pillow at night, right next to his head... ;)

Colin,
They keep talking about how fast the AF system is on IDx. Does this mean all the lens focus systems can keep up with that speed? Because at the end of the day what the camera system sends to the lens needs to be executed there. Does this mean now we have to keep upgrading to the newer lens systems to keep up with that change?
Interested to know what you think and what your tests have shown.
Thanks!
