One person mentions a D800 and, bang!, we're off to the races. It is my own personal observation that photographers are a group of very opinionated people. I am one of them. I have seen the quality of the D800 first hand. I'd say job well done to Nikon for cramming another 24,000,000 pixels into that phone booth.
Evidently, and from the full-resolution images I have seen, yes. I'd ask you a question in reply, but I'm done with this thread. It has spiraled into negativity with thinly-veiled attacks on someone's personal opinion.
I think some people are missing my point in that I see the D3200 as being a marketing gimmick. Sure, some other cameras share the 24MP sensor, but those cameras have so many more features and, for the most part, are not entry level. It's shiny, red, and packs 24MP. Furthermore, with the name "D3200" any uneducated consumer coming along is going to think this is the upgrade to the D3100. Right. Gimmick.
I've long since said enough and this thread has been woefully hijacked to the usual MP/D800/sensor size debate. I stand by my opinion that the D3200 is a marketing gimmick. I also wait for the day I can get my hands on a D800 provided something better doesn't come out in the meantime.
