Great to learn more about you. Some of your photos are quite simply magnificent and I'm a big fan of your work. Incidentally, I can completely understand your dislike of electronic engineering - the stream of engineering I hated the most when I was doing aeronautical engineering. :D
Hi Mal,
yes in the avatar is me and my girlfriend drinking (several) glass of "vin-brulè" (red wine hot and mixed with many kind of aromatic herbs... but don't fall in mistake: legal ones!!)
:D

Great read. Thanks for sharing Nicola.

Aah that explains it; all that exercise. I took pure maths at university and glad I did, until I got out and found the jobs on offer were accountancy, teaching yuk, or research which only paid £7000pa and I think probably still does.
I used to know an Italian girl who phoned me every week to practice english, I thought she was a bloke but hey; she got a Ferrari and house with glass doors and a swimming pool. :D

Thank you for sharing, Nicola. Your name and avatar image certainly confused me as to which of the two you were! It is funny that when I think someone is a particular gender that my interpretation of their postings on CiC is slightly different and I believe it colors the words I use in composing a reply to their images as well. I love your work and look forward to seeing much more. Perhaps you can convince your girlfriend to let you post her portrait? :)

Hi Nicola,
I happen to know that Nicola is a guy's name, because I had a friend with that name in Ricioni, who had a hotel at the Adriatic coast. I spent 11 years for 5 weeks vacationing and staying in his hotel. He was a lot older than me, but we both love car racing. In his private home he had a hugh hobby room with 5 vintage cars, ferrari, maserati, Alfa Romeo and so on. My wife was miss Rimini in 1967. Good memories.
If your gasoline cost is 1.90 euro per liter, I think the price in dollars per gallon is about $9.38.
1 euro = $1.30 and 1 gallon is 3.8 liter.

Hi Ronny
you are absolutely right! there is for sure some kind of typing error in my calculation, probably I typed 1,90 / 1,3 x 3,8 instead of 1,9 x 1,3 x 3,8
I'm quite surprised by how many here on CiC have a "link" to Italy..!
