Not sure what I was thinking. It's definatley soft focus. Not sure how I could have been so mistaken:rolleyes:
What exactly did you do to the pic (ie. how did you get her eye so sharp? I'm sure some of it is because the rest of the pic is so softly focused:p but I'm pretty sure there was more to it than that)

I use channel to convert to grey scale. I think I used linear burn overlay and played with opacity to darken the skin tone.
This made skin looking real rough, so I add another gaussian blur layer to soften the skin. Add masking layer to selectively blur the picture.
Yes you right. By making the surrounding 'soft' it will make the eye look sharper. But I also used USM - sorry I didn't write down the setting. I just played with it until it looks good to me. Then add layer mask and use a soft brush to show only the eyes.
