Project 52 by Girish A

Hi...all.......i had been on a vacation to Kashmir and so could not post my photo for the 15th and 16th week. Now am back from my vacation and here are two of my photos i clicked during the vacation.....Parrots.........

Those first two photos are very good Girish - it's just a shame that didn't catch the entire shadow in the very first photo. I think the third photo looks a bit soft and underexposed.

I like the first one in particular but with the halo on the building I wonder if it might be a bit over-sharpened?

Thanks Mal.....first photo i was not anticipating the flight..it was sudden and could not catch the full shadow..............and the last one was taken under very low light....i had not seen the bird before so just took the snap for record....

Thanks Frank.....only after your comment i observed that halo in the building.....i used auto sharpen tool only.....am still to learn this proceesing aspect.....

We are all learning. LOL!

If you have a Clone Tool available, you can use a diameter that would just cover the halo and position the reference point about the diameter of the tool away from and perpendicular to the halo and simply draw along the roof line.

The only thing I would consider changing with this excellent shot is to reduce the amount of space on the right side. So that they are looking towards a greater area of space.

I'm not sure how this would work out if you want to have a standard size ratio, as I am just holding pieces of paper against the screen. Maybe 5 x 4 or even square might work.

That bird has a rather arrogant expression. Well done.

I somehow missed the week 19 image, very interesting colours and patterns on those two birds. Nice capture! The week 20 bird has a very colourful beak and a face that only a mother would love!

Hi Girish,

You do capture some amazing birds over the weeks.

However, it is good to see you try something else this week.

If I have a suggestion for the monochrome landscape, it would be to use the techniques of Local Contrast Enhancement, especially on the distant hills/mountains and clouds - in fact it may be wise to duplicate a layer, work on that for these areas and then mask & blend or erase, so that the untreated lake and shore are retained as they are (already plenty of contrast there).
