But I'm inclined to agree with Rob - I think the original is slightly underexposed :)

How about one with the best of both worlds... Same background (essentially), about a +.75 increase on the child, and an extended foreground, square crop.

Cold and bleak is pretty much reinforced by the bundled kid.
